So What’s the Code?
I really don’t have anything worthy to write about as I have been a bit pre-occupied with my upcoming out-of-the-country trip. Yep, my little naughty traveling feet will strike again. Will tell you about it later.
I have been out of the blog loop for almost two weeks now. My David Cook entry has been in my main page for quite a while and I think it’s about time to end the fuzz about DC as he is now dating a co-American Idol alumni by the name of Kim Cadwell. Oh DC, it really hurts me big time… but you will always be here in my heart. Asus, may ganung statement talaga! Hahaha!
Anyhow, back to reality now.
An old-time close friend forwarded an email to me two Mondays ago with subject title "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?". That was the first email I opened that day. I don’t usually get hooked to forwarded problem-solving emails but this one definitely caught my attention. So, I want to share it with you as I found it so darn easy to solve.
Here are the email details slash problem-solving clues:
A man wanted to get into his work building, but hat forgotten his new code. However, he did remember five clues. These are what those clues were:
The fifth number plus the third number equals fourteen.
The fourth number is one more than the second number.
The first number is one less than twive the second number.
The second number plus the third number equals ten.
The sum of all five numbers is 30.
What were the five numbers and in what order?
So, what’s the code? Tell me your answer and let’s see if you are indeed smarter than a fifth grader.
Side comment: Why in the world didn’t he use his birthday as code so this darn man need not involve us in solving his freaking problem! Hehehe!
My Manila OP Adventure
As promised, here’s my entry on my recent adventure at MOP (Manila Ocean Park) with Mommy and Potchie. I’d like to correct myself with what I wrote in my previous post, we didn’t actually spend the entire day at MOP. I guess, it was a roughly 4-hour adventure with the marine creatures. So here goes my story…
I might sound a bit disappointed as I was not extremely amazed with the facilities of MOP. I guess, my recent experience in the original OP in Hongkong contributes a lot in this so-this-is-what-MOP-looks-like attitude. But despite my sorry-im-a-bit-disappointed outlook, I still commend the MOP creators for building a nice and perfectly-situated oceanarium for local and foreign tourists alike.
Well, our adventure at MOP started at around 12 nn. I wasn’t suprised though of the huge crowd as it was Mother’s Day (not to mention it was a Sunday!). Upon entrance, we were given this white stub printed with a 707 number on it. I was initially puzzled what the stub is for. Sus, it was my number to get the actual entrance tickets pala. When I checked the e-counter, it displayed the number 420. Of course, I freaked out! The freaking sign meant that there are almost 300 persons need to be served before I can buy those freaking tickets! Well, until now I still am freaked out… hehehe!
I was really considering of changing my Mother’s Day plans but Mommy and Potchie both looked so eager to get in the oceanarium. So, I opted to wait… for freaking 1.5 hours! Good thing there are food stalls inside. Our little stomach were at least relieved from hunger.
So at around 1:30 p.m., I was able to get hold of our golden tickets. I really feel it’s a bit pricey (of course, as compared to HK OP) as facilities are limited to numerous aquariums only. Tickets are priced P400 and P350, for adults and kids, respectively. Senior Citizens (thank goodness, Mommy is a certified SC!) are extended with 10% discount. But still, it’s a bit too pricey for me.
I don’t want to throw more disappointing feedbacks. Anyhow, I was able to take good pictures. I’ll let the pictures redeem MOP’s promising image.
Here are our initial shots…
Since MOP features a vast marine life collection, I was able to take shots of some familiar cast members of my all-time favorite animated movie, Finding Nemo.

- … andyan si Nemo, promise!
Here are some other marine creatures that caught my attention:
The main attraction (except for the fish), I guess, was the tunnel aquarium, a very nice part of MOP. It was really hard to take nice pics though as there were lots of people doing the same thing, that is, taking good pics 🙂 Here are some of our shots… we’re again included in the pic.
I noticed that Mommy and Potchie were having a nice time. I think they are really scrutinizing this one…
… or is it the fish who’s scrutinizing them? Hehehe!
Here, they are also busy looking at something. It’s as if they are confused with the specie inside the tank…
Know what they are looking at? Eto po…

Hala, akala ata isda rin ito! Hehehe!
The MOP is a bit small [for me] as it only took us an hour or two to actually see everything. Almost equal time consumed for that wait-in-line-first-to-get-that-freaking-ticket I experienced earlier. Hehehe! They have other offerings though which we did not avail as there are additional fees: Fish Spa for P100 and Boat Ride for P150.
I think MOP is still expanding as there’s an on-going construction. So for those who want to visit MOP, I suggest you wait for the final completion to at least experience the entire facility that MOP has to offer.
In closing, my MOP adventure was an OK experience. But as for Mommy and Potchie, I think they enjoyed their time there. So, do I have plans of seeing again in the future? I guess NOT!
Funny MOMents
It’s Mother’s Day once again. But I don’t want to go sentimental with this post as I did last year. But as a loving daughter, I once again devoted this day entirely for my Mom… with my niece, Potchie, on the side.
I decided that we all spend the day at this new tourist spot filled with various marine creatures. Yep, you got it right! I took my Mom to the all-new Manila Ocean Park. But still, this post is not about our trip to MOP. I’ll be doing another entry on our MOP adventure. Just watch out for it 🙂
My post today is somewhat light-hearted and intentionally titled it “Funny MOMents”. Nope, there’s no caps-lock-typo error on that. It’s not original though as I saw it in one of the local channels. But I really find it amusing so I decided to use an almost-the-same title for my post.
For some of you who truly knows my Mom, you would agree with me if I say that she’s one of the coolest Mom you’ll ever meet. And despite her being 72 years old, Mommy has successfully coped up with all the fuss around us. Well, I always try to keep her tab with all these trend that I am up to. But sometimes, even I get extremely amazed how my Mom do her yep-I-can-keep-up-with-you-youngsters attitude. And here are some of my so-called Mommy’s Funny Hitlist… or pwede rin Mommy’s Funny “Hirits”:
On buying Havaianas:
Winkie: Ma, treat kita ng Havaianas.
Mommy: Talaga anak? Sige, gusto ko yung mataas ah! (read: Havais High)
Winkie: Sure ka? Baka mahirapan kang maglakad.
Mommy: Mas masarap kaya ilakad ang mataas noh? Mas sexy!
Winkie: (talking to self) Nanay ko, mas maarte pa sa akin!
So, after I bought her a new pair of Havais High, we did our usual stroll. Until suddenly, I heard her blurted out this statement:
Mommy: Aray! Parang may tumutusok sa sapatos ko.
Winkie: Huh? Jelly shoes, may tumutusok? Pantingin nga.
So, I checked her shoes.
Winkie: Wala naman ah!
Mommy: Meron anak. Magpalit na lang kaya muna ako ng Havaianas?
Asus! Ayun naman pala, gusto lang isuot ang new flip-flops nya! Ang arte naman talaga! 😉
On my thoughts on ‘religious’ calling:
Winkie: Feeling ko, wala talaga akong religious calling.
Mommy: Ay naku anak, alam ko kung ano ang calling mo… sa mga mall sale!
On David Cook:
Winkie: Ma, sa palagay mo magiging boyfriend ko si David Cook?
Mommy: Eh bakit di mo siya i-email? Lagi ka naman nagco-computer eh!
Hmmmnnn, very supportive Mom eh! Hehehe!
Kulit ng Nanay ko noh? Well, these are just some of her funny antics. There are a lot more but I can’t really write them all down.
So now, you have a simple glimpse of how it is to live with a mom like mine. 🙂
=====================================================================
To all the Moms out there…
HAPPY MOM’S DAY TO YOU! May the Good Lord keep you blessed and grant you the love, peace and happiness that you truly deserve. 🙂
Weekend Recap
I was suppose to post this entry last night but I was too darn tired to go online so I instead decided to snooze off early. My weekend was both tiring and fun that I thought of blogging out a recap.
Saturday
Together with 6 co-workers, I spent the entire day working in Lubao, Pampanga. Well, I think the right term is “we all worked with fun” as we facilitated some teambuilding activities with some dash of products info refresher on the side. This activity is traditionally conducted to hype up the company’s North Luzon Cluster annual meeting.
Oh well, apparently, I am part of this group of select employees (echos! ang bigat ng term ‘select’ kung ‘select’! but that’s how the company describes us :-)) called Real Change Leaders for 2008. We are tasked (read: additional task on top of the usual daily grind) to cascade the so-called company’s Whole Heart and Mind (WHAM) Way culture. Ok, ok, I won’t anymore continue discussing this culture and vision-mission thing as I might drag you to a far different topic.
And so, to continue on, my co-workers and I did our opening salvo activity and encouraged some employees to participate in some fun games. Of course, there were a bunch of feeling-alta-sa-ciudad employees who intentionally snobbed us and gave us that don’t-you-dare-drag-me-to-that-nonsense-thing look. But they did not stop us from doing our thing.
After the fun activities, we felt we successfully accomplished our task for the day. The participants’ smiling faces all attested to that claim. We even got a congratulatory SMS from one of the company’s top honchos and told us what we did was great.
Travelling back to Manila was a bit long and tiring as it poured really hard. Lightnings occasionally striking with electric power interruption while we were having coffee break somewhere in Angeles, Pampanga. Good thing, we passed through the new NLEX road via Clark so travelling back home was nowhere near bumpy.
It was a very long yet fun Saturday for me.
Sunday
My mom and I again decided to spend time at the malls for some cool atmosphere. Actually, I had some hidden agenda why I dragged my mom to the malls… I wanted to buy a new pair of jeans! And I did! 🙂
My other plan was just to simply stroll around and canvass iPod prices. Hmmnn, are you sensing I have plans of buying myself a new gadget? Let’s wait and see, hehehe! I got a bit observant yesterday that I noticed and overheard random slip-ups along the way. And here are some of them…
(1) At a gadget store, a lady customer was asking for iPod features:
Customer: Ilang kanta ang capacity ng 2gig na iPod?
Sales Clerk: Mga 450 po, Ma’am!
Customer: Ay konti lang?
(Lady customer shifted her attention to the Ipod Shuffle shelf)
Customer: Ay, liit naman nito! Ang cute!
Sales Clerk: Yes Ma’am, maganda yan! For personal use lang talaga yan!
Duh? Kelan naman naging for public use ang iPod?!?!?!?!
(2) At a shoe store, I grabbed this nice strappy silver sandals:
Winkie: Ma, tingnan mo to, ang ganda noh?!
Sales Clerk: Ay mam, pwede pong isukat yan.
Winkie: (gave the sales clerk a blank face)
Haller??? Of course, pwede isukat ang shoes! That’s the reason why the term “shoe fitting” was invented! Duh?!
(3) At an ATM of one of biggest banks. Photo-supported po ito:
Hindi ata kinaya ng isang client at kinailangan nyang i-proofread ang sign… hehehe! In fairness, redundant naman talaga!
So, our last mall pit stop was the movie house. I also did not plan on watching any movie but we needed to kill time as it was still hot outside. We ended up watching Iron Man. I really don’t have a single idea who Iron Man was. For me, he wasn’t as popular as Superman, Spiderman or Batman. But what the heck, Robert Downey was in it! I used to have a big crush on him way before that drug addiction issue. I particularly liked him in “Only You” and “Heart and Souls”.
I initially thought that the Iron Man plot was a bit too complicated for me as I always get lost when the script leads into hard IT discussions. But suprisingly, the movie was really easy and fun to watch. The script was great. Robert Downey’s character as Tony Stark was so cool. Those random funny one-liners gave the film a good blend.
I completely liked Iron Man and might watch it again sometime soon. Robert Downey was such an eye-candy in this film!
May Calendar
Kalakbay, 2007
Just as I was completing the last strokes of this painting this morning, two of my subjects in this latest obra were being riddled with bullets while cultivating their own land somewhere in Central Philippines.
Mang Alejandro (fourth from the right) and Mang Eli (second from the left). They were with us no more. Last March, we attended Mass under their worn-out tent. I felt their sighs: "ginoo, thank you for your journey with us through the valley of darkness… kalakbay."
The ghosts of Mang Alejandro and Mang Eli still haunt me. They still stare at me, telling me that we haven’t liberated ourselves yet as a people from the hundreds of years of feudalism and landlessness. The chains are still intact and the rust has penetrated into the marrows of our souls, yes, bereft of human dignity.

Summertime is about to end. Let’s make the most of it and savour every minute as we journey through life with people who are very dear to us. Happy May to all!
Paula’s AI Slip-up
I usually watch AI’s full eposide in its encore at 8pm as I oftentimes arrive home around 7pm. But last night, I wasn’t able to watch the encore as I headed to the Glorietta to watch the Aga-Anne movie. So, I had to watch its last airing at 1:30 a.m.
Last night was Neil Diamond’s week and all contestants were required to sing two Neil Diamond songs. I was really struggling between being sleepy and wanting to watch the entire show. And so when it’s time for the judges to comment on the Top 5’s first song, I thought I misunderstood Paula Abdul’s comment as I was too sleepy. Well, it wasn’t my sleepiness pala. Paula Abdul explicitly made a huge slip-up on national television when she commented on Jason Castro’s two performances eventhough it was just the first round. Here’s the clip:
Is Paula high on drugs? Or is AI totally scripted? Whatchathink?
Oh well, Paula’s recent booboo will definitely not stop me from watching the show.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Last night was the end of the road for Brooke White. The Neil Diamond Week finally sent her home. Too bad!
Birthday in Baguio
There, I finally confessed it. I decided to celebrate my big day in the City of Pines. It’s so darn hot in Manila so I took my Mom with me up north for some cool birthday ambiance. I think the last time I spent my day somewhere outside Manila was 4 years ago in Tagaytay with the former beau. Well, I have been wanting to do that one more time and I guess the best person to spend it with is my mom. Besides, she should be the one celebrating for successfully giving birth to a 7.8-pounder healthy baby girl 32 years ago. So basically, this Baguio trip is really for Mommy. And to all my friends who thought na nagtago ako sa birthday ko, you’re dead wrong! This is my only valid reason of celebrating out-of-town.
Well, April 24, 2008 is day I turned 32. Yay! Such dreadful age. I’m really having this oh-great-I’m-way-out-of-the calendar notion. Yeah, yeah, yeah! It’s just a number, I know. But it’s really getting on my nerves. I more and more feel that I’m getting old. But as most my wise friends tell me, I really don’t look my age. Parang 31 years old lang! Hehehe!
My entire day was a bit simple though.
We left Manila at around 3 a.m. and arrived in the City of Pines some past 8 a.m. Then, we headed to our usual inn to check in and drop off our things. It’s no extravagant inn. I’m not so very keen on the facilities. I only look for comfort, cleanliness (toilet, that is!) and location. I want a place that is very convenient especially for a commuting public like me.
First thing my Mom and I did was to check out the mass schedule in Baguio Catheral. Well, of course, I need to allot an hour of thanksgiving to God. Luckily, there’s a scheduled regular mass in the afternoon. I then had to re-think of our day’s itenerary to beat the 5 p.m. mass.
On our way to find for a breakfast resto, I got surprised with what I saw. There’s a Havaianas branch in Baguio! As in sa baba lang ng Baguio Catheral. So how would anyone miss that? I guess you already know what I did. Oh yes, nagpanic ako! My mom and I went in and checked out their inventory. Sadly, they were out of stock of that pair that I have been eyeing on… that green Havais Slim! They don’t have my size *sad*. Para naman kasing walang Havais boutique sa Manila or Makati noh?! Hehehe!
We had our breakfast at Zola Cafe, right beside the Havais shop along Session Road. It was actually our first time to eat there. I used to pass by it as I had an impression that it was a bit of an expensive resto. I was wrong. I guess, I got a bit intimidated of their ambiance. Low lit and strongly painted with red and black kasi, hehehe! Their prices, I think, are on the average and affordable. And what’s even better is that they offer free WIFI access. Too bad, I did not take my laptop with me. Well, there’s always a next time. 🙂
So after a quick breafast, we headed to The Garden in the Sky aka Tam-awan Village. I posted an entry about this some 10 months ago. Here’s the reference link: July posts. I promised myself that I would check out this place again on my next visit. And so I did. Besides, Mommy wanted to go back to there too as we weren’t able to explore the place that much due to time constraints.
Tam-awan Village is still very much the same except for the Art Gallery Exhibit. Woodcrafts by an artist named Gilbert Alberto aka GANO were now displayed inside the gallery. And here are some of his works… as always, extra ako sa picture 🙂
BTW, we were assisted by a very nice girl named Jessica, who is having her OJT in Tam-awan. So our 2nd visit was a bit more informative as Jessica very well explained every bit of the place. Oooppps, don’t dare ask me if I was able to remember all the info huh?! I was busy receiving/reading birthday SMS greetings and replying my thank-you text messages. Ask my Mom if she learned anything from Jessica. Hehehe!
In less than an hour, we were done with our tour. But suddenly, it started to pour. Yep, I rained real hard mid-morning so it got a lot colder. Say nyo, iniwan ko pa naman ang jacket ko dun sa inn! So, we got stucked in the cafeteria the entire morning. It was still fine with me though as I got myself busy looking at the paintings and other artworks displayed on the walls. Yep, they were all for sale. Too bad, I don’t have much money to spend for those artworks but I really do want to own one. Probably I’ll buy one on my next visit 🙂
Since there were no much more to do but to loiter and wait for the rain to stop, I opted to do another portrait session. I was luckier this time as there were 8 artists present to do my portraits. And so, I again took the hot seat… the model’s seat, that is! It wasn’t as nerve wracking as my first portrait painting experience. This time I was a bit more relaxed as I knew what to expect: (1) gruelling 20-minute please-don’t-make-large-movements position, (2) stare far far way and think of some happy moments that will eventually translate to a very happy face, and most of all (3) those 8 sets of artists’ eyes who passionately looked at me trying to capture every bit of my facial features.
I was again happy to have done this the 2nd time around. I got 8 beautiful portraits for just P100! What a nice birthday treat from the overly talented Tam-awan artists!
At around 2pm, we headed back to the inn. We needed to rest a bit as we were not able to get a full and restful sleep on our way to Baguio. Sadly, my mom and I overslept. So nothing happened the entire afternoon. We were just in time for the 5 p.m. mass though.
So right after the mass, we had dinner at Don Henrico’s along Session Road. I actually advised most of my friends that I’m having my birthday party/dinner at Don Hen. They just needed to RSVP so I could reserve seats. Too bad, no one was able to come. So, dinner for two na lang. Hehehe!
We just had some pasta and my all-time favorite, buffalo wings! Mommy offered to pay for the dinner. Treat daw nya yun sa akin. Sweet ng Mommy ko noh?! But here’s the catch. She borrowed her pocketmoney from me and told me that she doesn’t have plans of paying me back. So much for the libre! Parang ako rin pala nabayad! Anyways, it’s the offer that counts. Hehehe!
We had to cut our dinner short as I needed to watch American Idol… ‘lam nyo naman, fulltime AI addict ako! I didn’t want to miss the elimination episode. I knew that my all-time AI bet is so way safe this week. But I really felt sad to see Carly Smithson go. She was my favorite among the female contestants. So now, I am shifting to Syesha as my female bet.
So, that was my day.
Very simple.
Very relaxing.
Very peaceful.
And yet memorable.
But you know what made it more memorable? It’s the text messages, online greetings/comments/messages, well wishes and emails that you, my dearest friends, sent me. And not to mention, those sweet phone calls. Each and every message/greetings really made my day. You all made me feel extremely special.
So, from the bottom of my heart… THANKS A BUNCH!
Inside the Dressing Room
Yesterday, Mommy requested that we spend the day at the mall as it was freaking hot in our house. I guess, temperature registered at 36 to 37 degree yesterday. So I instantly gave in to my mom’s request.
I really don’t have any plans of buying anything. My aim was just to eat, stroll (window shop, that is!) and probably watch Al Pacino’s movie, 88 minutes. And yes, we ended up doing all those things.
So, my mom and I had our usual window shopping and came across to this famous not-that-expensive-not-that-cheap fashion boutique. Of course, I ran into the sale rack the moment I saw the "50% OFF!" sign. I instantly grabbed this nice printed satin dress that I have been eyeing on. Being a supportive mom my mother is, she encouraged me to try it on. And so I did. I went to the dressing room to fit the dress. Masunurin ako eh! Hehehe!
Guess what? I think the dress looked good in me. (Backgrounder: I have actually ‘fears’ of trying dresses on as I might see it to look good on me and end up buying the thing.)
It took me quite a while inside the dressing room. Thinking hard if I really ‘need’ to buy the dress. I’ve so many unused clothes in my closet so I had to think if there is a need for me to a new dress. Yes, sometimes I have this weird habit of over-analyzing things. I really liked it. The neckline is so darn low but doesn’t give a slutty look. I got my cue when I further thought, "This dress is perfect for dinner dates. So kelan ko naman ito maisusuot?"
Since I liked the dress that much, I instead took a picture of myself on it inside the dressing room. Yeah, I know, it’s unethical to take pics inside those four corners but I really needed to capture the moment. Here I am wearing that gorgeous dress:
Nice one, di ba? It might be out of fashion anytime soon though and I feel like it’s a bit conservative for me 🙂 But up to now, I’m still thinking if I should buy this dress. Aaaarrrggh, some girl’s shopping dilemma.
Some YM Boo-boo
I had this weird experience last night while I was writing my previous post.
As always, I would log on to YM and keep tab on who among my friends are online. BTW, my YM is exclusive only to my so-called friends as I don’t want to clutter my list. And so to continue on with my story: In the middle of my blog writing moment, I saw an alert that someone in my YM list went online. And as always again, I ignored the alert. Yep, I don’t usually initiate chat conversations. Pati sa chat eh suplada ako, hehehe! Oi hindi ah, busy lang talaga sa aking pagsulat ng blog entry. 🙂
Anyhow, I still checked out my recently online friend. I got a bit interested to send him (yep, it’s a male friend! hehehe!) as his avatar got my attention: a guy standing in front of a white CRV. Very cool pic indeed! So I shot an IM (read: instant message). Here are the initial exchange of messages:
Winkie: Wow, nice car! Sa’yo ba yan?
Chatmate: Yup.
Winkie: Talaga? Ano yang car mo?
Chatmate: Do I know you?
Then I thought, "Yikes! Na-Wow-Mali na naman ata ako!" But I replied and continued on with our conversation…
Winkie: Oh sorry! Is this *****?
Chatmate: Hehehe! I’m not *****.
Winkie: Oh sorry! You’re in my YM list. I’m so sorry.
Chatmate: Kasi ininvite mo ako dati pa.
Winkie: Sorry po. I thought you were my friend.
Winkie: You have the same initials as *****’s eh!
Chatmate: Ok lang po.
Winkie: I thought ito ang YM id nya kasi nag-accept.
Chatmate: Ok lang. Wag mo na po ako i-delete sa list mo para chat uli tyo minsan.
Oh well, I ended up chatting with this new found chatmate and he started to ask some other let’s-get-to-know questions. The guy is kinda nice though but is too far away from me. Yep, we’re miles-and-miles and oceans-and-oceans apart.
So, am I hoping for this to turn into a romantic relationship? Naaah, I think I’m up for new online friendship only.
Remember my 2008 Opening Salvo post? This is my second online boo-boo this year. May pangatlo pa kaya ito? 🙂
I’m Moving Out…
Again, I’m not in my usual happy blog-writing mood. But I want to post something here as I haven’t updated you, my dear friends, of any personal events of my life lately.
Yep, you read it right… I’M MOVING OUT! I need to wait for another week though for that moving out thing to happen .
But no! I’m not going to go astray far away nor plan to move out from this blogging habit. I am actually moving out from the calendar and transferring to the lotto card. Tagalog translation: Wala na ako sa kalendaryo kaya lipat na ako sa lotto! Huhuhu!
There I said it, I’ll get another year older in exactly one week! I’m turning 32! Yay!
I feel a bit weird though. I feel somewhat excited but at same time a bit sad.
Bad news first. Yes, I’m a bit sad. But not the oh-crap-I’m-still-single-and-alone kind of sadness, huh?! I just feel sad on the thought that I’m turning 32. But as they say, it’s just a number. Anyhow, I really don’t feel (and look :-)) that old though.
And that excitement thing? Yes, I am quite excited for my big day to come. I don’t have anything grand planned just yet but I am thinking of spending it somewhere else. Don’t worry, I will of course keep you posted where I will spend my big day. Nothing surprising though 🙂
I really don’t know why I have this weird feeling of excitement. I am actually hoping of some random surprises to happen. Well, surprise gifts would definitely make me happy. I would gladly welcome a Lacoste bag and/or parfum, Levis 593 size 28 or Havaianas Slim (green) size 37-38. Ayan ha, I’m already giving some hints. Hehehe!
Kidding aside, I’m hoping for some unexpected things to happen. Maybe, a text message or phone call or email from a special person in my past? Hmmmnn… I’ll just keep my fingers crossed til my big day then.
*************
Yesterday, I also have a moving out experience in the office. I was officially casted off (hmmm, feeling American Idol ang term!) from my department as there is a bit of reorganization in the office and I was greatly affected with that Management’s decision. It wasn’t a big deal for me though as my functions as Product Officer were kept intact. Management just thought that it would be better to assign my function under the supervision of our Marketing Unit. Oh well, I just hope this will work out fine.
Re-orgs are such old news to me. I have experienced this in my previous work. I don’t want to claim that I am used to it but I tend look at it in a brighter perspective. For one, I’ll have a chance to work with a different set of people. It will give me an opportunity to adapt to new work styles. I will also be able to work for a different boss who is equally nice as the previous one. And I know, I’ll be up for a lot of new things. New challenges. New assignments. New learnings. New opportunities. All these will test my capabilities as a (struggling) yuppie in the corporate world.
Good luck to me then!
