Oh well, I again got tagged. And this time, it was from Kathy. As promised, here is my reply to her tag.
First thing’s first, here’s the rule:
List the names that you are called by and name the people who call you by these names.
I’ll make it a bit more detailed and give you some short background on each of my name slash terms used on me.
This is my given name. Hmmm… I guess you are now wondering why I have that for a name and use Winkie as my nick. I’ll answer that one a little later. LOL!
Since this name appears on my birth certificate, this is the name I used at school. So my teachers called/calls me by this name. Oh well, pag galit si Mommy (or dati si Tatay nung buhay pa) isang malutong na Francia ang tawag sa akin.
Apparently, my name was derived from Tatay and Mommy’s names: FRANco and FlorenCIA. Yep, biktima ako ng mga corny na magulang. (Tay, please don’t visit me later tonight. LOL!)
My highschool classmates started to call me by this name. I guess they felt my two-syllable real name is a bit too old fashioned or formal so they shorten it a bit and made it more hip. I like the sound of it as I feel it’s a bit more classy and connotes fashion (read: France, the fashion capital of the world! kelangan talagang may ganyan explanation? hehehe!) There’s one classmate though who made it more pang-masa and started to call me Francing. Up to now, he’s the only person who calls me by that name. Other peeople who knows me as France are friends from my Kabataang Lingkod ni Maria (KLM) family. It’s a youth slash religious organization I joined when I was in highschool.
This one is my official nickname. My childhood friends and other close friends call me by this name. And this also turned out to be my professional name. Only selected colleagues know my given name. So whenever someone calls me at work and looks for Francia, they are always told that no such employee is connected with the company. LOL!
Just like my real name, my nick was also derived from Tatay and Mommy’s petnames: WINg and FranKIE. Sabi sa nyo biktima talaga ako eh! (‘Tay, please walang dalawan! LOL!)
And this one has shortcuts slash other variations: Winks and Winx.
My older cousins played with my nick and started to call me Winkie-doo. They eventually cut it short and habitually referred to me as Kid. Some other older male neighbors (read: kabarkada ng mga sanggano kong pinsang lalaki) and some other male childhood friends also called me by this name. If you ask me, I also like this one. A bit masculine for me. Tunog di pwedeng awayin, LOL!
This one is also a transition name. From Kid, Mommy started calling me Kidang. And the rest is history, LOL! Only my mom and my aunt (Tatay’s younger sister) are used to calling my by this name.
This is short for TITA. So obviously, my nephews and nieces are the ones using this term. I dunno if those kids are too lazy to say the word ‘tita’ that they all call me ‘TA. Oh and all of them are very respectful huh?! They always use “po” and “opo” whenever they talk to me. So a normal statement would go something like this, “Nag-dinner ka na po, ‘Ta?” Madalas ko sila pagalitan kasi akala ko they are throwing bad words on me. LOL!
This is another variant of Winkie… a more “masa” version, I suppose. Parang tunog Menggay, Pipay, Tetay, Zsazshing… di ba, parang artista lang?! LOL! Anyhow, I really can’t classify all the people who calls me Wingkai as I have been using this as my signature name of some sort. I even used it for my first-ever blog and entitled it with A Journey Inside Wingkai’s Mind.
I have been getting a lot of this from the blogosphere just recently. I guess, Rye and Mon started to call me this and everyone else followed. It makes me smile whenever friends in the blogosphere refer to me as Ms. Winkie. Kaso naman parang tunog Ms. Minchin or Ms. Tapia. Hehehe!
But hey, most of the staff at work call me by this one too.
Aaah, this one is my screen name. Kidding! LOL! But this is serious ah! Well, I really don’t know who started this crazy name. But appartently, some friends from choir, Candy, Teng and Mina, call me by this term. Eh sino ba naman ako para tumanggi?!?! Tinitiis ko na lang kasi di ko naman na sila mapigilan kung GANDA ang gustong itawag sa akin. LOL!And some even use this as my name in their phone directory. Kung may reklamo kayo, wag dito! Dun sa presinto!
Read first before you react! LOL! There’s only one person who calls me by this term. It’s my friend Paul. Actually, he was the best friend and highschool bud of my college barkada. We later on became good friends. Whenever he sees me online, we would buzz me with “Hi Gorgeous!”. And our chat conversation would always end with, “Bye. Stay gorgeous.” O kung may reklamo uli, dun uli sa presinto! LOL!
Hmmm… do I really need to tell who calls me by this term? Pwede secret na lang? Hehehe!
‘Pag di nyo ginawa awayin ko kayo! *SUNGIT* (Oh, I heard some people use this name slash term on me, too! Siguro ung mga may matinding galit sa akin, hehehe!)
